Because the stones on the way are so hot Suzy puts a 2nd sock on her poor left foot so her toes don’t get “grilled” on the hot pavement.
Now it’s better *eXtreme* tip-toe limping along the way. Later she crosses a steel-bridge and then crutches down to the waterfront where she can sit down on a bench in the shadow.
