A basement is shared by two tramps, Horst and Walter. they recruit Rosemarie, a pretty but penniless blonde, as bait for their daily job as street musicians.
When she walks into the lobby of a smart hotel, hoping to catch a businessman, she is kicked out by the doorman. She nevertheless catches the attention of a group of business tycoons who meet at the hotel and one of them, the married Hartog, puts her in an apartment.
While Hartog is absent for an exclusive equestrian event, Rosemarie picks up Fribert, a wealthy Frenchman who, to Hartog’s and his family’s horror, brings the uninvited Rosemarie to the event. Hartog gives Rosemarie a cash win, which she immediately spends on a convertible.
Fribert takes her over, not for sex but to enhance her image of her by ditching her cheap clothes and decorations. Her plan, when he reveals it, is to use her for industrial espionage. He telegraphs his apartment, after which he has to take the business moguls to her bed and get them to talk.
The plan works well, except that he is slow to collect the tapes and Rosemarie realizes that she can use them herself. She too wishes, after being expelled from Hartog’s equestrian event, to be recognized among the wealthy instead of sleeping with her husbands for money.
She causes another scandal by showing up uninvited to a party attended by most of her clients and their wives. Fribert realizes that he is becoming a responsibility, as are his clients. One night when the tycoons are all having fun in a nightclub with the resident women, she finds. Left to walk home alone, she staggers back to her apartment …
